Confiker Worm Makes Leap to Bluetooth-Enabled Cochlear Implant
Most malware security center researchers were on high alert today for reports of the Confiker worm making "phone home" connections to their masters for instructions. The real surprise came in an announcement by Rochester Institute of Technology engineer, Alexander Weitbrecht, that Confiker had made an appearance in a cochlear implant.
Weitbrecht reported that, "Apparently the user was listening to a world music heavy metal a cappella fusion on an Internet radio station coupled into their bilateral cochlear implants via bluetooth."
Local deaf education expert Laurent l'Epee remarked, "With the incredible computer complexity of today's cochlear implants and hearing aids, it was only a matter of time. Who would have guessed that they were running Windows!"
