AA, NA meetings with Sign language interpreters

Sign language interpreters are provided for NA (Narcotics Anonymous) and AA meetings by Travis County Services for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing. (Austin, Texas)

This 24 hour hotline can help with meeting locations and times, and requests for interpreters. Also, if there is a meeting on the schedule where you would like to have an ASL interpreter present, call 512-448-9017 and ask for Clint Ritter. They will check with local providers, and do their best to help.

DODA--Deaf Off Drugs and Alcohol offers deaf 12 Step & support meetings in sign language led by deaf facilitators over the internet. Requires computer, webcam, high-speed internet, and an email address.

Austin Interpreters for the Deaf (AID) & ASL Friends United (AFU) proudly offer the workshop COW-THAT: ASL Phraseology. Lisa Gelineau will present the workshop. The translation for COW-THAT in English is "not too crazy about it" or "not my cup of tea". ASL has a set of expressions and phrases used by native ASL users that often have no simple ASL to English translation equivalent. An ASL user
