The Trouble Puppet Theater Company of Austin, Texas, is bringing back its award-winning adaptation of Upton Sinclair's The Jungle, March 16-April 3, 2011, and we will have ASL Sign Language interpreters at our Wednesday shows.
Deaf patrons can buy tickets at a 33% discount for Wednesday nights ($10), and educators who bring a student group receive complimentary tickets. We will also host interpreted talkbacks after the Wednesday shows, during which the artistic director, Connor Hopkins, and cast members will answer student questions. (Student and educator discounts are available other nights, though talkbacks are Wednesdays-only.)

Each year the Governorâs Committee on People with Disabilities, in conjunction with local committees throughout the state, accepts nominations for media professionals and students who have produced material for the public which accurately and positively reports on individuals with disabilities, using People First language and respectful depictions.
Hosted by the University of Texas Division of Diversity and Community Engagement in partnership with Bank of America, the University of Texas College of Communications, and the University of Texas Student Government Students with Disabilities Agency.
