Bethany Lutheran Church at 3701 West Slaughter Lane in Austin now provides interpreters * on request * at their 9:30 a.m. service. The service is a contemporary worship service.
If you would like to have an interpreter when you attend Bethany, please call the church by noon on the Thursday prior to the Sunday you want to attend and ask for an interpreter. They will then contact their interpreter service and schedule an interpreter for you. The church phone number is 512-292-8778. It is a voice number, so please call through a relay service.

Presented by the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) Foundation – KICK UP YOUR HEELS for TSD’s 7th Annual Diamond Chef’s Gala – a student prepared, multi-course banquet with wine pairings, silent and live auctions, and “Boots & Bling” themed fun.
Hilton Diamond Chef, Mark Dayanandan, gives a select group of TSD culinary students the opportunity to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the back of the house of the renowned Hilton-Austin – working alongside Dayanandan on his signature, locally sourced, gourmet creations for more than 200 special guests.
The annual Diamond Chefs Gala showcases the talents of TSD students and celebrates the rich history of TSD’s 150+ years of providing an exemplary education, tools and experiences to Texas’ students, ages 0-22, who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Proceeds will support the Texas School for the Deaf, and the approximate 5,000 deaf and hard of hearing Texas children, their families, professionals, and the networks of support that hold us all together.

FOR THE 2ND ANNUAL DEAF-BLIND WALK-A-THON
AT TSD Track, JUNE 1, 2013 FROM 9-NOON
Funds raised will go towards training for SSPs and for DB to learn how to use SSPs ..
The Deaf-Blind Service Center of Austin will be having its Second Annual Walk-A-Thon on June 1, 2013, to kick-off Deaf-Blind Awareness month. The walk will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Texas School for the Deaf track. Come walk with and support those Deaf-Blind individuals in our community and help to raise funds to train Support Service Providers. SSP's are specially trained professionals who enable people who have combined vision and hearing loss to access their environments and to make informed decisions. SSPs provide Deaf-Blind individuals with visual and environmental information, sighted-guide services, and communication accessibility. The DBSC of Austin is raising funds to train more people to become SSPs. Show your solidarity and help the DBSC of Austin provide hope!

Are you interested in taking a defensive driving course to reduce the cost of your insurance or to dismiss a speeding ticket? Here's the place. TCSDHH will be sponsoring "Texas Friendly Defensive Driving Schools" to teach a class for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Participants. Interpreters will be provided. Please request additional accommodations and complete pre-registration and payment by 5/31/13.
Note: Registration will not be refunded for no shows.
