IDP (Interpreters with Deaf Parents) is launching a spring clean-up and replanting in La Vista Deaf Retirement Community’s beloved Memory Garden that is dedicated to loved ones, past & present.
Volunteers are enthusiastically donating time, material, labor, and plants for this event. Among the volunteers are those who are knowledgeable of plants best suited for local climate concerns.
(VOLUNTEERS: please bring your own tools! La Vista staff tools won't be available.)
Joining the group of workers will also be members of AID, KODA, and the Austin Deaf Club. A wonderful way to show how much the Senior Citizen Community is cherished.
Following the spring cleaning IDP will host a picnic for the residents of La Vista. IDP is proud to announce that Communication By Hands will be the corporate sponsor for this picnic.
Donation’s to La Vista’s Food Pantry are also being collected - non-perishable foods.
IDP is working with local agencies to conduct food pantry drives 4 times a year – Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.
Check with Austin area interpreting agencies for drop-off locations.
